A Note on Dating & Faith
Friends, let's be honest: modern dating culture can often feel broken. If you feel stuck, annoyed, or frustrated that the dating pool at your immediate church feels too small, you are not alone.
At Yenta, we believe that pursuing love is an invitation to mature, to sacrifice, and to experience intimacy as God intended. But we also believe we need to take marriage off a pedestal and treat it as a beautiful commitment cultivated over time—starting with simple, low-pressure conversations.
Our goal isn't to manipulate, guilt-trip, or shame anyone into a relationship. We're here to empower you. We're asking you to step out with grit and boldness. We want to reframe the fear of failure or rejection into a simple opportunity to build social skills, practice connecting, and expand your community across the broader city.

The Event Flow
A thoughtfully curated 2.5 hour experience designed to break the ice and foster genuine connection.
1. Pre-Work
Before the event, you'll complete a quick interest assessment and attachment style quiz to help you identify your romantic blind spots.
2. The Icebreaker
We skip the awkward open mingling. We start with facilitated, lighthearted group activities to break the physical and social barriers.
3. Speed Rounds
6-minute conversations with a 1-minute buffer to log your notes. An audible cue keeps the room moving smoothly.
4. The Match
Fill out a private survey at the end: 'Would you go on a first date?' If there's a mutual match, we connect you the next day.
Rules of Engagement
To create a safe, equal, and pressure-free environment, we enforce a few strict (but fun) boundaries during the event.
The 'Mystery' Element
During dates, you are not allowed to share your exact age or job title. We want to foster curiosity beyond the resume.
Phone Discipline
Phones are placed in a holder on the table. No screens. Just eye contact. (There is a time penalty for checking your phone!)
Keep It Light
Tables feature stacks of fun conversation prompts. We ask everyone to avoid 'dumping' personal problems, politics, or deep trauma.
No Instant Asks
You are not allowed to ask for contact info or a second date during the event. We handle the matchmaking afterward, removing all on-the-spot pressure.
What's Included?
Tickets are $47 per person. This covers:
- Private venue rental in the Madison Area
- Provided appetizers during the mid-point break
- One standard drinks per person (Additional Available for Purchase)
- Access to the post-event matchmaking coordination
Upcoming Brackets
To prevent awkward gaps, our events are divided by age. We welcome believers from Madison, Sun Prairie, Oregon, and beyond—including those who have experienced divorce and feel out of place in traditional college/young-adult ministries.
